Our school's mission is nurturing all students and empowering them to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities of the future as disciples of Jesus Christ in service to others. Our school offers interscholastic sports because they fit our mission. At the center of our school’s mission is the goal of producing disciples of Jesus Christ who provide service to others. The athletic program, like everything else about our school, is focused on the accomplishment of this mission. Just as our teachers are expected to infuse their classrooms with the Christian faith, so our coaches are expected to infuse their “classrooms”—the field, court, etc.—with the faith. Gathering each day as members of our school’s Christian faith community, our teams grow in their relationship with their Lord Jesus Christ under the leadership of their coaches. Our coaches are expected to provide athletic training within a Christian context. In addition to physical conditioning, refining skills and technique, and training in tactics, coaches are expected to include devotions and prayer in their team’s preparation, as well as a Christian approach to all situations. We recognize that when we compete, our teams are not playing for themselves but for God’s glory. We recognize that our words and actions provide opportunities for us to be witnesses of our Christian faith. The work of making disciples of Jesus Christ remains our expectation for all of our school’s activities, and it is the core of our school’s mission and ministry.
