Course Description - This course covers the life of Jesus Christ as written in the four Gospels of the New Testament. The intention of the class is to study Jesus from His Incarnation to His Ascension. Included will be a broad survey of the actions, teachings, and services of Jesus. Furthermore, this course will help students to read and understand God's word, apply it to their lives, and apply it to God's created world.
Grading Scale 100 - 93 A 92 - 90 A- 89 - 88 B+ 87- 83 B 82 - 80 B- 79 - 78 C+ 77 - 73 C 72 -70 C- 69 - 68 D+ 67 - 63 D 62 - 60 D- 59 - 0 F A point system is used to figure total grades accumulated through the semester. Typical point values are as follows: Homework 5 - 10 points each; Participation 10 points a week; Quizzes 10 - 40 points each; Projects vary The frequency of assignments, evaluations, and projects vary from 6 week grading period to 6 week grading period.
Classroom Policies - The seating arrangement is assigned by the teacher. - Assignments are expected to be turned in when the teacher collects it, otherwise, it is considered late. - All homework must be completed. Late assignments will be deducted according to the number of days late and the quality of the work. - Absences on a quiz day must be made up immediately. - Quiz retakes are determined by the teacher. - Read rule 5.6 in the student handbook for excused field trip absences. - Student help days are reserved for students who have special needs because of special circumstances. A student must come that day if the teacher has requested so. - Each student must be in the classroom when the bell rings or they will recieve a tardy. - There is zero tolerance for cheating and plagarism. A zero could result for that assignment or evaluation.
Classroom rules - Observe and practice respect, patience, diligence, punctuality, humility, a sense of humor, good effort, and higher level thinking. ( Matthew 7:12, Galatians 5:14, I Peter 2:13, I Peter 4:7, Colossians 3:23)
Teacher's Focus for this Class - This class heavily relies on discussion, and all students need to participate if this class is going to be interesting, fun, and successful. Asking questions, answering questions, making insightful comments, and any positive words not only help your individual success but the outcome of the whole class. The teacher will give a large amount of notes which are necessary for each student to take. The evaluations are written based on the notes given. For each student to prepare properly for a quiz they must have accurate, clear, and complete notes. If problems with notes do arise it is important for the student to communicate with the teacher.
