SENIOR RELIGION (RE 410)

 

• Course description:

This course consists of a systematic study of the Apostolic writings from James through Revelation.  Emphasis is placed upon the teachings of Christ as found in the Gospels, Christian apologetics, and contemporary issues which prepare our students for life in college and the world.

• Credits: 2

• Prerequisites: Required of all Seniors

• Teacher: Mr. Alles

                1. Free periods--2, 6 (1st Semester); 4, 6 (2nd Semester)

            2. Senior Religion--1, 3, 4, 5A, 7, 8 (1st Semester); 1, 2, 3, 5A, 7, 8  (2nd Semester)

• Materials: Bible, folder, paper, pen or pencil

• Behavior

            1. Respect and obey the teacher

            2. Respect others

            3. Respect the property of the school and others

            4. Respect the teaching/learning process

                        - Be on time with your materials (No bags, coats, food, drink)

                  - Pay attention during class (No sleeping or other work)

                  - Raise your hand to speak

                  - Speak one person at a time     

• Grading: Pass/Fail (with mastery of material shown) or

                A               95-100                           C              79-82

            A-              93-94                            C-             77-78

            B                91-92                            D              75-76

            B                87-90                            D              72-74

            B-               85-86                            D-            70-71

            C                83-84                            F                0-69

• Late work: One letter grade down for every day late

• Cheating: Copying or using another’s work without teacher permission

                1. First violation--zero for assignment

            2. Second violation--possible course failure

            1. Fire--down stairwell outside room door & exit outside (southeast

                doors)

            2. Tornado--through Sr. hall down to cafe hall; through cafe hall down 

                to mathwing
• Target: Disciples of Christ (Psalm 78:1-7)                                                       
            
1. Believe in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord (John 17:3)

            2. Follow the Spirit in a God-pleasing life (Romans 8:5)

            3. Make disciples of others for Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)
