FINAL PAPER – 4TH YEAR
ONE SEMESTER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
DUE: December 17, 2008
I. How it must be presented
A. Must be typed (word processor) with double spacing
B. Left margin - 1 1/2"
C. Must be 3-hole punched and fastened in a 3-prong folder
D. Your first and last name must be printed in black magic marker across the top of the folder. Do not put class period on the front cover as this changes from year to year. (NOTE: This folder must be kept until you graduate!!!!!!)
E. Suggested: If using a word processor, select Times New Roman; Titles may be fancy. Top, right & bottom margins - 1". Use a 12-point font.
II. Content – Add these papers to the end of your 3rd year’s work. They must be in this order:
A. Page 1. The printout of your ending fitness results from your last semester of physical education.
B. Page 2. The printout of your fitness results from the beginning of this semester.
C. Page 3. This piece of paper entitled “FINAL PAPER – 4TH YEAR”
D. Students will design a fitness exercise room for their home (room size 12’x14’). Identify the equipment that you would include (should improve cardiovascular and muscular fitness). Pick equipment you would like to use.
1. Page 4. Draw the design to scale with appropriate labels. (Room size 12’x14’)
2. Page 5. List the brand name, model number & cost of each individual piece of equipment. Include the total cost of the room.
3. Page 6. Determine a workout program to be used for a one-week session making use of all the equipment in this room.
4. Page 7. Determine what changes should be made in the above program as you get older. Example: Age 40, 60, 80
E. The piece of paper we gave you entitled “SCORING GUIDE FOR FITNESS FOLDER
(FOURTH YEAR – FIRST SEMESTER)”
III. How it will be Graded
A. The paper will be 10 % of your semester grade.
B. If it is not turned in by the end of the semester, the student will receive an F at zero percent. An academic citation will be given if the fitness folder is not turned in within 5 school days of the due date.
C. The paper itself will be graded in the following areas
1. Content - 2/3
2. Presentation and that includes grammar, punctuation and following directions for
presenting the paper - 1/3
D. If you lose your fitness report, you may obtain another one for $1.00.
E. You are encouraged to turn the folder in early so it can be checked and you have time to improve the grade if necessary.
