FINAL PAPER – 3RD YEAR
ONE SEMESTER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
DUE: December 17, 2008
I. How it must be presented
A. Must be typed (word processor) with double spacing
B. Left margin - 1 1/2"
C. Must be 3-hole punched and fastened in a 3-prong folder
D. Your first and last name must be printed in black magic marker across the top of the folder. Do not put class period on the front cover as this changes from year to year. (NOTE: This folder must be kept until you graduate!!!!!!)
E. Suggested: If using a word processor, choose Times New Roman; Titles may be fancy. Top, right & bottom margins - 1". Use a 12-point font.
II. Content – Add these papers to the end of your 2nd year’s work. They must be in this order:
A. The printout of last year’s test results from the end of the semester.
B. The printout of your fitness results from the beginning of this semester.
C. This piece of paper entitled “FINAL PAPER – 3RD YEAR”
D. Put a title at the top of the page. Goal Setting.
Using your fitness results, list your present scores and then re-set the scores from each test showing what you would like to achieve on each of the fitness tests at the next testing. Make them realistic.
E. Redo your personal fitness program on the form provided. Include warm-up, cardiovascular
endurance, flexibility, muscular fitness, agility, cool down, and body composition (nutrition).
F. Instructions for My Pyramid – A Nutrition Analysis
G. Do a nutritional analysis of your diet for 1 day.
1. Input everything you eat and drink for 1 day into the nutritional program My Pyramid (on the Internet). Follow the instructions that you received.
2. Print outs required (in landscape)
a. MyPyramid STEPS TO A HEALTHIER YOU
b. The day’s food record
c. 2005 Dietary Guidelines (DG) Recommendations (the page with the smiley faces)
d. Nutrient Intakes
H. Put a title at the top of the page. Reflect on the results of your diet analysis. Use the Dietary Guidelines
and the nutrient intakes pages to help with the analysis.

2. What areas do you need to improve on and how will you do it?
3. What are some things that prevent you from healthy eating?

III. How it will be Graded
A. The paper will be 10 % of your semester grade.
B. If it is not turned in by the end of the semester, the student will receive an F at zero percent.
C. The paper itself will be graded in the following areas
1. Content - 2/3
2. Presentation and that includes grammar, punctuation and following directions for
presenting the paper - 1/3
D. If you have lost your fitness reports, you may obtain replacements for $1.00 each.
E. An academic citation will be given if the fitness folder is not turned in within 5 school days of the due date.
F. You are encouraged to turn the folder in early so it can be checked and you have time to improve the grade if necessary.
