1ST YEAR FINAL PRESENTATION
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
CHECK POINT IS DUE: November 14, 2008 FINAL PAPER IS DUE: December 17, 2008
I. How it must be presented
A. Must be typed (word processor) with double spacing
B. Left margin - 1 1/2"
C. Must be 3-hole punched and fastened in a 3-prong folder
D. Your first and last name must be printed in black magic marker across the top of the folder. Do not put class period on the front cover as this changes from year to year. (NOTE: This folder must be kept until you graduate!!!!!!)
E. Suggested: If using a word processor, choose Times New Roman; Titles may be fancy. Top, right & bottom margins - 1". Use a 12-point font.
II. Content – Each section must be on a separate piece of paper.
Page 1 The copy of your fitness results printout.
Page 2 This paper entitled "1ST YEAR FINAL PRESENTATION"
Page 3 The paper we gave you entitled "What is Physical Fitness?"
Page 4 Put a title at the top of the page. Compare your fitness results with the standards.
a. List your score, your percentile and body fat results (include an interpretation of body fat results [are you below, in or above the healthy fitness zone?]).
b. Compare all scores to the Presidential standard if any of your scores are at or above 50%, or compare all scores to the National standard if all of your scores are below 50%.

a. Identify which fitness tests are strengths and which are weaknesses. Include each fitness
test and your body fat result. Explain why each is a strength or a weakness. One way to
do this would be to use columns.
b. List 2 activities to improve/maintain each fitness test and your body fat.

Using your fitness results, list your present fitness results and the scores that you would like to achieve on each of the fitness tests at the next testing. Make them realistic.
Page 7 The paper we gave you entitled, “Fitness Log Template.”
Page 8 Use the form provided to develop a personal fitness program. Include activities and/or
exercises that you will enjoy doing. Be specific.

III. How it will be Graded
A. The paper will be 10% of your semester grade.
B. If it is not turned in by the end of the semester, the student will receive an F at zero percent.
C. The paper itself will be graded in the following areas
1. Content - 2/3
2. Presentation and that includes grammar, punctuation & following directions for presenting the paper - 1/3
D. If you lose your fitness results printout, you may obtain another one for $1.00.
E. You must turn in your completed folder by the checkpoint & due dates. You lose 1 point for each late day, after 4, from your unit grade. Failure to turn it in by the end of the unit results in that unit grade being lowered one full letter grade. An academic citationwill be given if the fitness folder is not turned in within 5 school days of each of the due dates.
