COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for the student who has completed Algebra and Geometry but would benefit from a review of topics before taking Advanced Algebra with Trigonometry. Topics covered include the major concepts of both Algebra and Geometry. This is not a core mathematics class. A scientific calculator is required.
TOPICS OF STUDY
Intermediate Mathematics develops basic understandings of Algebra and Geometry. Topics covered during the year include:
- solving and graphing linear equations and inequalities
- solving systems of equations
- factoring and solving polynomials
- similar and congruent triangles
- special right triangles
- basic rules of logic
- basic properties of quadrilaterals
- basic properties of parallel lines
- basic trigonometry of right triangles
