COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for students who have been exposed to basic Algebra topics. It includes all of the concepts listed for Algebra. Students must qualify for this course through a department-sponsored test. A scientific calculator is required.
TOPICS OF STUDY:
Accelerated Algebra develops basic understanding of mathematics. Topics covered during the year include:
- solving/graphing linear equations and inequalities
- solving systems of equations and applications
- solving, graphing and taking roots of quadratics
- basic operations of polynomials
- factoring polynomials
- basic trigonometry of right triangles
