Homework Policy

Since most of the work is done in class, try to attend class each day and use your class time wisely. Sufficient time is given to complete all assignments unless you work extremely slowly or waste a lot of time. If you are absent you may complete missing assignments between 7:30 and 7:55 a.m. or after school until 3:30 p.m. (If no one comes in for help by 3:15 or on days when the teacher has an out-of-building appointment, the room may be closed at that time.) You may also borrow a book during your study hall and complete missing assignments using the Library computers.

When homework is given, it is due on the date assigned because it is usually used for keyboarding purposes in the classroom on that day. Students who do not have the required work with them on the day it is due will need to make up the assignment and will lose one grade of credit for each day the work is late. Students who miss work because of absence should make up missing work within two days of the absence.

Cheating Policy

Students who copy written assignments (tests, quizzes, worksheets) from another student or allow someone else to copy their assignment and students who print another student’s work (identical font and margins, same spacing, same errors, etc.) will receive a grade of 0 on the copied assignment.

School Expectations

  1. Treat others with dignity and respect.
  2. Care about others.
  3. Follow policies and procedures.
  4. Be on time and ready for class.
  5. Perform to the best of your ability.

Classroom Expectations

  1. Be in your seat, ready to work, when the tone sounds.
  2. Do not eat, drink or chew gum in Room 209.
  3. Work quietly and cooperatively so all students can do their best.  Do not waste other students’ time by expecting them to help you when you do not understand directions or did not listen to instructions.
  4. Clean your work station at the end of class: closed book placed on tower, scrap paper thrown away, handouts saved in folder or handed back to teacher, chair pushed in. Note that textbooks stay in the classroom.
  5. The Internet is for classroom use; please do not use it unless instructed to do so. The Citrix network does not permit downloading of information or programs, so please do not try to download materials for your personal use.
  6. Treat equipment, software and furniture with respect. Do not write on computers or desks. Budget money does not permit for replacement of those items that may be destroyed or damaged. If something appears to be wrong with your computer, notify your teacher at once. Do not attempt to “fix” the problem yourself.
  7. In case of an emergency, listen to the teacher for instructions. For fire drills, students should leave the classroom in an orderly manner, turn right into the hallway and proceed to the door at the end of the hallway. For a medical emergency, tell the teacher and get a pass to the bathroom or to Attendance.
