Course Description
Information Processing II is designed for those students who want to improve in all areas of computer use. Students have an opportunity to extend knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, learn and apply database concepts to realistic situations, to use Power Point to enhance presentation skills and to learn some HTML concepts of basic web design. Assignments are graded on the basis of how they are presented; whether the correct software was used to complete the assignment, correct keying of the text, inclusion of all necessary elements, and presentation and formatting. It is assumed that assignments will be keyed without error in a timely manner.
The teacher primarily serves as a facilitator in this class; you do the work yourself and the instructor helps when necessary. You will be asked to bring your own materials for some of the work; please have these materials with you when requested to do so.

Classroom Rules
All of you have been students in the computer lab before so you know the basic rules; however, some reminders:
get to class before the tone sounds
treat each other with courtesy and respect
treat the equipment with care
do not use the Internet during class unless given permission to do so
let the instructor know if something is wrong with your computer; don't try to fix it yourself
don't open the printer to pull out jammed papers; call your instructor to fix the problem
use your time wisely; keep up with assignments and make them up as soon as you can after an absence
Semester Evaluation
Your grade is based primarily on applications. There will be some worksheets and quizzes/tests. When worksheets are assigned, please complete them by the due date so that we may discuss them in class or so that you have acquired the knowledge you need to proceed with the next assignment. This is an advanced level course, so it is assumed that work will be keyed without error. Grades on assignments will be based on completeness, formatting and layout, and usefulness/appropriateness of material presented. Individual Word and Excel assignments will receive individual grades; projects may be the compilation of grades on multiple assignments.
Grading Scale:
A = 90-100
B = 80- 89
